Michelle Rempel
Michelle Rempel (''née'' Godin; born February 14, 1980) is a Canadian politician, who has been the federal Member of Parliament (MP) for the electoral riding of Calgary Centre-North from the 2011 Canadian federal election until 2015 when she was elected in the riding of Calgary Nose Hill. Rempel is a member of the Conservative Party and served as the Minister of State responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada. ==Early life==
Rempel was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is of partial Franco-Manitoban ancestry〔https://openparliament.ca/politicians/michelle-rempel/?page=1〕 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba. She worked as Director of the University of Calgary’s Institutional Programs Division prior to her election. Under her leadership the sponsored research funding grew from $7 million in 2007 to over $100 million in 2009. In 2010 she was named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women in the "Future Leaders" category by the Women's Executive Network. In 2014 Rempel was named one of Calgary`s Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Magazine.
She previously served as president of the Conservative Party riding executive for the riding of Calgary—Nose Hill.〔
